Fully vaccinated travellers will be exempt from the need to have a negative PCR Covid-19 test to enter to Tunisia, from Saturday October 16.
Currently, before they travel, all visitors must fill in a health monitoring form and have a negative PCR test result, taken within 72 hours of boarding a flight to Tunisia.
Children under 12 are also exempt from the requirement for a PCR test.
Announcing the change, the Tunisian National Tourist Office in the UK and Ireland also said the authorities in Tunisia “reserve the right to carry out random rapid tests upon entry”.
The TNTO said the Foreign Office advice is due to be updated shortly.
The requirement remains for travellers who are not fully vaccinated to enter mandatory quarantine in a government-approved hotel for seven days on arrival in Tunisia.
Visitors are exempt from the requirement to self-isolate if they are travelling on an inclusive holiday with a tour operator.
They must provide evidence of their booking and a negative coronavirus PCR test taken less than 72 hours before travel to Tunisia, with a QR code.
The Tunisian National Tourist Office will be on stand AF201 at World Travel Market in London next month (November 1-3).
