These European countries keep attracting tourists from the States

Recent research by travel powerhouse Virtuoso has classified Uruguay, the Maldives, and Malta has the top 3 destinations with an increase in American tourists during the past months.

Malta, the smallest EU Member State and one of the most popular Mediterranean destinations, has alone seen a 140% increase in passenger traffic from across the pond.

Romania, Egypt, Norway and Qatar have also seen a notable increase in arrivals from America.

Virtuoso’s followers are known for craving luxury destinations and longer holidays. The company has also confirmed that travellers it has interviewed for this study also confirmed they are keen on exploring new destinations in the Mediterranean, particularly ones known for historic sites.

Well, we can think of one or two nooks and crannies in Southern Europe which can satisfy any history buff…
