Sicily orders Mandatory Covid-19 test for people arriving from Malta

Travellers arriving in Sicily from Malta will have to undergo a Covid-19 test, Italian media report.

Sicily region president Nello Musimeci signed the decree on Wednesday, Italian news agency Ansa reports.

The same measure is also obligatory for people arriving from Spain and Portugal in the EU, and India, Brazil, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Malta has seen an exponential rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in the past days, climbing to 1,000 active cases on Wednesday.
