Morocco is open for tourism and leads COVID-19 immunizations in Africa

Morocco reopened on June 15 for vaccinated tourists without testing restrictions from 100+ countries.

All inbound travelers must bring a vaccine certificate or negative PCR COVID-19 test results.

Fully vaccinated travelers from Morocco’s list B are now allowed entry without quarantine restrictions. Unvaccinated travelers must observe a 10-day quarantine.

Morocco has already started vaccination campaigns and its goal is to vaccinate 33 million people this year.

Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt top the vaccination drives in Africa amidst a vaccine shortage.

Citizens only need to scan their QR codes at the new smart vaccination center in Errhma to get vaccinated.

“The main innovation here (…) is a complex information system integrated into the vaccination centre itself, using PCs, tablets, QR code scanning at the entrance and exit,” said Mohamed Loughzel, an officer at the vaccination center.

According to Africa’ CDC head, less than 3 percent of continent’s population is fully vaccinated so far.
