For the past four years, this chic Haute-Savoie resort has hosted a festival featuring internationally renowned names in jazz, attracting more and more music lovers out to the mountains. Following postponement of the 2020 festival due to the pandemic, the next event will take place from April 2-4, 2021.

The International Jazz Festival in Megève promises to blow audiences away in its rescheduled format next spring.

After Norah Jones, Gregory Porter, Macy Gray, Marcus Miller and Selah Sue came to ignite the stage in previous editions, next year’s lineup includes Ibrahim Maalouf, Sly Johnson and Pink Martini.

Soul, jazz, pop and retro: from Ibrahim Maalouf to Pink Martini

We’re hotly anticipating the opening night on Friday April 2, a ‘JAMY’ night dedicated to young talents. American composer and multi-instrumentalist Becca Stevens, singer Robin Mckelle mixing soul and pop, and rapper Sly Johnson (former member of Saïan Supa Crew) will all make an appearance.

Ibrahim Maalouf needs no introduction. This prolific virtuoso and musician has become a staple in jazz, pop and world music circles. He will present his latest album, ‘S3NS’, on Saturday April 3. An evening that promises to be magical!

Even if their name doesn’t ring a bell, you’ll probably know the hit ‘I Don’t Want to Work’… A real orchestra of 12 musicians assembled in 1994, Pink Martini offers music blending jazz, retro and classical styles. Hear them in Megève on Sunday April 4.

Faithful to the format of the main jazz festival itself, the accompanying ‘Off’ festival will also see concerts performed in the resort square and streets during the day.

Music: an extra reason to explore Megève

Now with an established international reputation, Megève uses cultural events to set itself apart from other mountain resorts. For the past eight years, the resort has held a classical music festival in August (Les Estivales de Megève), as well as a jazz festival at the end of March, at its Palais des Sports et des Congrès.

Megève started to build its reputation when the Rothschild family made it their favoured holiday resort, establishing the embodiment of French art de vivre at the same time. It has since become one of the most exclusive resorts in the Alps.

Alongside Combloux and Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Megève is part of the Evasion Mont Blanc domain with no less than 450km of ski slopes, against the backdrop of Mont Blanc itself. Magical!
