Not just beach resorts and water sports, the Mediterranean is also emerging as a skiing hot spot thanks to its choice of scenic ski resorts.

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous this year, here are five Mediterranean locations for the perfect skiing trip.

The upscale resort of Courchevel caters for all level skiers and offers scenic walks through the four villages which are designated with numbers that correspond to their altitudes and connected by heated walkways. When you have had enough of skiing you can enjoy a hot meal in one of the many restaurants or shop in Couchevel’s endless choice of boutiques.

Only a  two hour drive from Venice and seated close to the Dolomites, Cortina d’Ampezzo offers an array of winter sports opportunities. The thousand year old town has also starred in a number of Hollywood films. It sits particularly well with History buffs thanks to its choice of museums and historic churches.
