EasyJet unveils new services to Greece and France

EasyJet has started selling flights from the UK to four Greek island destinations – Kos, Kefalonia, Corfu and Chania in Crete – and the French city of Nantes.

The budget carrier now claims to be the largest carrier to the Greek islands from the UK.

Package holidays are available for all new routes, including beach breaks from £279 and city breaks from £169, through easyJet holidays.

Luton-Kefalonia flights will operate twice weekly from June 30, with one-way fares from £40.99.

Also operating twice-weekly is the Manchester-Chania service, starting from June 28 with one-way from £25.99.

Liverpool-Kos flights will operate weekly on Sundays from July 3, costing from £39.99 one-way.

Edinburgh airport will see Kefalonia and Corfu services operate twice a week from June, with Kefalonia one-way fares from £40.99 and Corfu from £28.99.

Glasgow-Chania will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays from June 29, with one-way fares from £29.99.

The new Birmingham-Nantes flights will operate twice a week from June 27, leading in at £29.99 one-way.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager said: “We’re delighted to add more new routes to our UK network for the summer and to provide our customers with an even wider range of fantastic destinations to enjoy.”

• Meanwhile, easyJet has announced it is working with GKN Aerospace to work towards reducing carbon emissions through the adoption of zero carbon emission technologies.

easyJet will support the development of GKN Aerospace’s Hydrogen Combustion (H2JET) and Hydrogen Fuel Cell (H2GEAR) technology.

David Morgan, director of flight operations at easyJet, said: “We know that technology is a key driver to achieve our decarbonisation targets, with hydrogen propulsion a frontrunner for short-haul airlines like easyJet.

“Cross-industry partnerships are key to developing these promising new technologies and we look forward to collaborating with GKN Aerospace to support bringing this technology to maturity as early as possible.”
